1. only if 只有在……的时候(表示对条件的强调，通常引导部分倒装句)
例：
Only if we work together at the problem of environmental pollution, can we make the earth clean.
只有我们一块努力去解决环境污染问题，我们才能让地球清洁。
Only if we keep practicing oral English step by step, can we speak English fluently.
只有我们坚持一步一步地练习英语口语，我们才能够流利地说英语。
2. as if 似乎；好像（通常引导虚拟语气，等同于as though的含义）
例：Don’t handle the vase as if it were made of steel. ( 2012北京高三高考)
不要碰这个花瓶好像它是钢做的。
Who does that shop assistant think he is? He behaves as if he owned the grocery．

那店员认为他是谁呀？他表现得好像这家杂货店是他家的。
3. even if 虽然；即使（引导让步状语从句，等同于even though的含义）
例：
—Look at those clouds!
—Don’t worry. Even if it rains, we’ll still have a great time.（2012年北京高考）
—看看头顶上的那些乌云？
—别担心。即使下雨，我们依旧会玩得很尽兴。
He is so busy. He cannot afford enough time with his son even if he wants to.（2013年四川高考）
他太忙了。虽然他很想抽出时间陪他的儿子也没法实现。
